Abstract
This workshop, held on November 7, 2008, at Purdue University, presented an overview of the HUBzero™ platform and highlighted a few of the hubs that have been created with this software. In the morning, new faculty and others curious about hubs saw a demo and learned about the underlying technology. At lunch time, attendees viewed posters and had an opportunity to talk with members of the HUBzero™ development team. In the afternoon, participants learned how to customize and configure new hubs in a hands-on training session. They also learned how to create interfaces for scientific applications by using the Rappture toolkit.
