Gerry McCartneyGerry McCartney was appointed Purdue's vice president for information technology and CIO in July 2007. He was named the Olga Oesterle England Professor of Information Technology in June 2009. From 1993-2004, McCartney was associate dean and chief information officer at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. As Purdue CIO, McCartney oversees Information Technology for the University and directs all the central computing (research, academic and administrative) as well as the networking and telecommunications systems on the West Lafayette campus. Purdue’s IT organization has 930 staff members and an annual budget of more than $78 million. |
