About the Group
Public Description
The data technology used to build collaborative databases on HUB platforms was designed and implemented by the Hub database R&D group in the Rosen Center for Advanced Computing. Database components can only be installed on a Hub with permission from the Hub database group. Medical and scientific research databases on HUBzero Hubs are created in collaboration with the database group.
The database components are as follows:
- DataStores : supports the creation of databases by end users for the collection and exploration of data. See https://hubzero.org/groups/hubdbs/wiki/DataStoresComponent for installation and configuration instructions.
- Databases : manages database configuration, applications and backup. This component is also used to create and manage database tables for data collection. See https://hubzero.org/groups/hubdbs/wiki/DatabaseComponent for installation and configuration instructions.
- Dataviewer : supports the access, exploration, search, filtering, linkage, visualization, analysis and export of data in the databases. This component is installed with the standard HUBzero distribution. See https://hubzero.org/groups/hubdbs/wiki/DataviewerComponent for configuration instructions.
- Forms : supports the creations and processing of web-forms used for data collection.
