submit command requires “resources” but not found

Hi,

I’ve installed the submit module and want to execute jobs on a remote cluster. However, after the installation, when I run from command line the “submit” command, it always shows a message “Server connection list empty. Check resources file.”.

I looked into the source code at /usr/bin/submit, and it seems that it looks for some resources files and try to parse the file to get some parameters such as connections to the remote cluster. However, such resource file is nowhere to find on my hubzero server. Are those resource files generated automatically after the submit module being installed? I’ve run /opt/submit/config and /etc/init.d/submon and /etc

Thanks!

    Hi,

You should add clusters in the file /opt/submit/sites.dat

The file should exist in /opt/submit, along with the other dat files:

    environmentwhitelist.dat managers.dat monitors.dat sites.dat tools.dat tunnels.dat

You can use these to add descriptions and access controls for your cluster resources.

    Instructions are here: http://hubzero.org/documentation/1.0.0/installation/Setup.submit
