How to get access to database from workspace?

Hi, I’ve installed a vm hub. I need to do some work in the workspace using the mysql database. But I tried some ‘mysql’ commands which returned ‘no such commands’. I also want to use mysql c api in workspace..

How to get access to mysql from workspace?

Thank you!

First item is that you have to chroot into the OpenVZ debain template and install mysql and setup with login and password.

Second, If you have installed mysql in your workspace you will first have to check and see that needed ports for mysql are open (use grep and check the port that mysql uses).

Third, try to connect to your mysql-server “mysql -u xxx -p”

If you want to have GUI capabilities then you’d have to install a LAMP stack in the workspace, and check everything with mysqladmin
