security and updates of hubzero
I was wandering whether HUBzero, being extensively used in nanohub.org, has been subject to security patches in addition to the vanilla joomla package (1.5.15)?
Also, are there plans for regular security updates and releases?

Yes it has. Appropiate joomla security patches have been made as well as an extensive security audit.
Currently, our published cms package (joomla plus all the hubzero extensions and changes) is well behind the code used on our live sites but this process will be improving with the goal of regular security updates and releases.
