Can I get a bare bones copy of the CMS?
I have installed the hubzero_cms files. The default installation has the following menu items "Discover, Community, About, Support", and each menu item has submenu items.
Would it be possible to get a very barebones database that doesn't have all the menu items and content? I am finding it cumbersome to hide menu items and to also disable the associated component.

Not at this time. You might just be able to unpublish the whole Main Menu and create a new one in the same module position and use that. I haven't tried that lately though.
In a future release we will have support for some additional "flavors" of HUBzero that will alter the initial content and template to suit particular needs. I'll see if we can make some "barebone" flavors available at that time.
