Suggestions for how to troubleshoot workspace tool error “Failed to invoke session”?

I am installing a hub from the directions at https://hubzero.org/documentation/1.2.2/installation/Setup.workspace and have reached to the Workspace section of the instructions. I was able to run the 3 commands there successfully. However, I am not able to launch the workspace tool.

I can login to the front end of my hub where the workspace tool is visible, but when I click on "Launch", my screen darkens a bit, I have a nice spinning wheel graphic, and then about 2 minutes later I get a red warning box at the top of the screen that simply says

Failed to invoke session

I have no idea where to start troubleshooting this. Does anyone have advice to share?

    Leigh, go ahead and enter a ticket on hubzero.org/support/ticket/new and I'll try to help you there. Unfortunately that error covers a multiple of session launching failures. I'll try to walk you through a bit of troubleshooting if I can.
