Two questions:

1. What is the proper way to stop a submit? I’ve seen other applications just kill the submit process, but that method seems sort of hackish. Alternatively I was considering submitting a second job that would run qdel. Is there an elegant way to end things?

2. Can I submit a job to be ran on the front end? I have a couple of jobs that run rather quickly: One queries an inputted file for some of its properties (but requires programs on the cluster). Another prints out the contents of some files in the scratch directory that I was using for monitoring progress. In both cases, it takes longer to load files and queue than it does to run.
