How to make proper translation
We are trying to adopt hubzero software stack to work with russian language. There is a problem that most of the text on web-site is hardcoded in php code. Could you please recomend a best way for translating hubzero? Should we replace this hardcoded text with JText function, make translation (making both english and russian language files) and then revert them back to hubzero developers? We don’t want to loose a possibility for future platform upgrade.

“There is a problem that most of the text on web-site is hardcoded in php code.”
A problem we’re most certainly trying to resolve. At one point in time all the text was in language files but the rapid and demanding development schedule of some of our clients has kept us busy and crunched for time, which unfortunately let things like this slip. We are currently in the process of getting all hard-coded text extracted to the language files and hope to have it largely, if not completely, done by the next open source release. Our apologies for the issue.
The next open source release will be available after our next Hubbub conference, September 24-25, 2012. More information about the conference can be found here:
